They
only sting when they are touched or provoked. If you are
alergic to bee stings then chances are that scorpions will
effect you in a similar or worst way. Avoid scoprpions if
you see them. To eliminate their hiding places, remove any
loose boards, debris, rocks or clutter in and around the
home. Make sure you are wearing protective gloves and clothing
while doing this cleanup.
In locations where scorpions may be hiding in the lawn or
garden, spray with diazinon, and in the home you may spray
with an insecticide containing chlorypyrifos. Scorprions
often enter the home through loose screens or door frames
or weather stripping that has decayed. Make sure to keep
these areas maintained to keep the scorpions out. If you
are stung or bitten by a scorpion, apply ice and contact
your physician.
