Today there are hundreds of different types of cattle breeds found in the world. Different types of cows are used for different purposes. Some are used for milk, while others are raised for their beef meat. Farmer continue to breed different types of cattle today to get better producing ones.

The Holstein cow is one that has a white coat and black camoflouge patterns on it. This type of cow produces the largest quantity of quality milk and can live in cold, damp places. The cow is definately one of man's favourite animals.

In recent years there have been mad cow disease scares in europe and other parts of the world. Man's domestication and breeding programs are having a negative effect on cows. But our love of hamburgers and steak will continue our enslavement of this wonderful animal.
