The
benefits of using cars, tractors and other man made devices
are evident all around us. Horses are tempormental and
require constant attention. They have to be washed, fed
and broken in. So then why do we still domesticate them?
There
are still plenty of good reasons why we keep horses around.
Police officers use them as a form of crowd control in
the city when people get out of hand. Horses are good
for pushing a crowd back, while at the same time protecting
the police officer. They are also a lot of fun to ride.
We keep them around to remind us that we were once dependent
on them.
The
dumbest reason we keep them around is for racing. I think
this is a stupid life for this great animal. But then
again, that's my opinion. The next time you meet a horse
give him a carrot or a sugar cube, he will thank you for
it.
