Robins are very beautiful birds that are
found quite often in North America. You will usually see
Robins flying around in your backyard in the summer time.
They are fun to watch and they have a nice singing voice,
too! Robins, like most small birds, have a difficult start
in life. When they are first born they are very vulnerable
to predators. Because of this, most robins die in their
first year.
Their biggest threats are cats, hawks, and other predators.
They also die from accidents such as bonking into windows,
car strikes, and electrocution, infectious diseases, and
poisoning. Insecticides can be very harmful to robins. If
you use lawn sprays, be sure that they don't have insecticides
as well as the weed-killing herbicides and fertilizers.
