                     The
tiger shark is called that because it has tiger-like stripes
on it's back and white belly. Much the same way the common
tiger is decorated. It also has a thick-body and blunt stout.
Tiger sharks also have a spiracle gill slit behind their
eyes to help promote blood flow to their brain and eyes.
Like all sharks they have a great sense of smell and very
keen eyesight and they can hear injured prey miles away.

Tiger sharks can grow to 20 feet in length but the average
length tends to be closer to 10 feet. They also feed on
fish, turtles, crabs, clams, birds and other sharks or anything
else if they get too hungry. This animal is solitary and
spends all of it's time alone unless it is mating. It's
habitat is 1200 feet down from the surface and it lives
in tropical waters along the earth's equator.
